A Journey Through Five Centuries of Royal Art and Masterpieces

Join us to discover Madrid’s premier cultural highlight: the Royal Collections Gallery (Galería de las Colecciones Reales). Housed in an impressive, award-winning contemporary building right next to the Royal Palace, this space brings together an exceptional selection of the greatest artistic treasures gathered over centuries by the Trastámara, Hapsburg, and Bourbon dynasties.

Our guided tour is designed as a smooth chronological journey, descending comfortably through the museum’s architecturally stunning floors. Together with a certified official guide, you will not only view legendary paintings and sculptures but also gain a deep understanding of each era’s context. The collection features breathtaking Flemish tapestries, master royal armors, decorative arts, and magnificent 19th-century royal carriages—serving as a grand window into Spain’s royal history.

Iconic Works and Hidden Archaeological Foundations

During the two-hour tour, we will pause in front of iconic pieces by world-renowned masters such as Diego Velázquez (including his celebrated canvas “The White Horse“), Caravaggio, El Greco, and Goya. You will marvel at the raw strength of La Roldana’s sculpture of the Archangel Saint Michael and the spectacular battle-gala armor once worn proudly by Emperor Charles V.

Additionally, this tour features an exclusive look at the basement’s archaeological zone, where you will view the excavated remains of the 9th-century Islamic city wall from original Mayrit, the true birthplace of the city of Madrid.
